Celebrating Arleen Baez

September 18, 2024

Arleen Baez is a true champion of HeartShare, the work and the people it supports. Whether leading the charge for our annual fundraisers, offering both an ear and advice to our CEO, visiting and connecting with our residents, Arleen takes her responsibilities as Vice Chair of the HeartShare Human Services Board of Directors seriously — while always flashing her infectious smile.

Arleen’s impact on the mission is profound. Since first attending our Annual Gala in 2015, her commitment to the cause has grown and grown. Later that year, she joined our Board of Directors and in 2018, we were honored to present her with the HeartShare Visionary Award. Her dedication and leadership has significantly shaped our organization, helping HeartShare find both growth and success.

Which is why when it came to dedicating one of our HeartShare Residences to someone who has gone above and beyond for our community, we knew exactly the person to honor. The Arleen M. Baez Residence renaming celebration took place last Friday. A truly beautiful event, on a perfect evening. Over 60 friends and family of both Arleen and HeartShare attended. The residents and staff are so thankful and excited to welcome Arleen to the family officially.

The Staten Island Residence is one of 49 HeartShare homes throughout the New York boroughs that provide community inclusion and a family atmosphere for those with special needs.
