HeartShare supporter and best friend of Allie Cashin will be running this year in the New York Marathon on behalf of HeartShare. Carrik met Cashin while they were in college at Notre Dame. It was through this friendship that Allie learned about HeartShare and its services. Allie also has a cousin who lives in a group home in D.C. She said she knows how important group homes are for the community and appreciated HeartShare’s mission and impact.

Allie has been running since college. She has participated in three other marathons in Chicago, D.C., and Utah. She said participating in the New York Marathon has been on her bucket list and she can’t wait to run for good cause with her best friend.

When asked why the public should donate to her Marathon page, Carrik replied, “…more than anything people should support a great local organization. I’ve learned about HeartShare for the past 10 years through Linda Tempel and her daughter Allie Cashin, and know just how special it is.” She is proud to be running on HeartShare’s inaugural Marathon team.
