HeartShare proudly presented Brooklyn PACT Day Habilitation Program with a Spirit Award on January 25, 2018. The program was nominated for providing outstanding programming for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

Brooklyn PACT program has been innovating new, exciting opportunities for its individuals for nearly a decade. From creating partnerships with major art institutions like the Museum of Modern Art to connecting participants to volunteer and employment opportunities in the community, Brooklyn PACT goes above and beyond.

In particular, last year’s Thanksgiving Luncheon and Talent Show was outstanding. The staff had karaoke, choreographed dances, props, costumes and decorations. The show featured dances, songs and skits followed by an incredible surprise—a homemade Thanksgiving dinner for all to enjoy.

“Our team is so dedicated for making this day special for both individuals and their families,” said Brooklyn PACT Program Coordinator Wendy Stuckey. “Having a supportive, family-like community at the program offers our participants confidence to do anything they aspire to.”

The Spirit Award, given four times a year to HeartShare Developmental disabilities Programs, is a part of HeartShare’s culture of acknowledging outstanding employees and encouraging their professional growth.
