During the evening of February 28, one of HeartShare’s two Beacon Programs entertained family and friends with a celebration of African-American History.

“I am truly honored to receive this award because it is coming from your hearts,” said HeartShare President and CEO William R. Guarinello as he received the International Brotherhood Award from P.S./I.S. 104. “I am impressed by the students here and the work they do in and out of school.”

On Friday, January 25, 2013, staff members from HeartShare’s Residential Programs were honored for their extraordinary efforts during and after Superstorm Sandy hit New York City.

Since the age of 3, William has lived at a developmental center in Queens Village, NY. The campus style living is the only way of life he has known for 53 years.
